Luminaria Collaborative Partner Southtown the Arts District hosts our Saturday Community Programs during their annual District Festival. Join Luminaria 2017 Featured Artists for brunches, signings, workshops and more throughout the District's five neighborhoods. Free and ticketed programs are available to provide you with opportunities to meet the artists, ask questions and even work alongside them. Reskate Mural

 – Hit the Street 

Moderated by Joe De La Cruz, Luminaria Artistic Advisory Committee

Join Luminaria muralists in a discussion about street art. What do murals says to a community? How long does the art remain relevant? How do they do it?

Art-Sci Symposium – 9:00 – 4:00 – FREE

Land Heritage Institute (LHI) is hosting the 5th biennial LHI Art-Sci Symposium. Sessions are geared toward a general, all-age audience and will focus on Sound Art & Sound Walks, Feminist Art in a Digital Age and reGEN: artists and scientists addressing climate change. 1 - San Antonio Dance Fringe – Contemporary Dance

Learn some basics of contemporary dance with a warm up, technique, cool down and even the opportunity to learn some choreography from the dance performed at Luminaria’s night festival.  All ages and experience levels welcome. 

2 - Miniature CuriosaLive Projection Storytelling 

During the course of this two-hour live-projection puppetry workshop, participants can make a miniature model, explore methods of camera manipulation, and develop new skills to conquer unthinkable stories using found materials. All ages and experience levels welcome.
