David Alcantar

A native Texan, David Alcantar received his BFA from the University of Texas Austin and his MFA from the University of Colorado – Boulder. Alcantar’s recent work blurs the line between traditional fine art and tattoos. For Luminaria 2018, Alcantar presented Skin in the Game: Act 3, featuring the work of San Antonio artists Joe Harjo, Ethel Shipton, Sarah Fox, Luis Valderas and David Alcantar in the historic Schultz house and on live models.

Alcantar received a CAMMIE award for his work exhibited during Contemporary Art Month 2018.
