New Mission Statement for 2026
Luminaria, a nonprofit arts organization, showcases artists in San Antonio. We promote the arts economy by producing the annual Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival and other creative programs.
Dear Art Supporter,
Luminaria has a new mission statement and renewed energy for this year’s Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival! With your support, we can achieve a spectacular festival that illuminates downtown San Antonio, inspires visitors, and fuels our arts economy.
Over the past 17 years, Luminaria has presented over 3,000 artists, 1,200 installations, and 900 performances. The majority of our Featured Artists are from the greater San Antonio area and are joined by artists from other states and countries.
Luminaria empowers San Antonio’s arts community to create innovative artwork for which they otherwise might not have adequate support. We are also dedicated to the innovative interpretation of our city’s culture, history, and environment through creative placemaking, site-specific arts integration, and coordination with anchor arts institutions, cultural and heritage organizations, and other community partners.
Each year, Luminaria works with 250-300 artists to produce this amazing Festival, our Pop Up Art Gallery, and benefit from the Working Artist Fund. We can do all this and more with your generous contribution. Please review our festival sponsorship levels and donate today.

Cultivate Creativity
Individuals, businesses, and organizations are also needed to propel the arts in our community at any level that fits their budget. Donations of any amount will help us grow our capacity to award more artists annually, maintain the high production level of our annual festival, and reward the production and administrative folks who work behind the scenes to make it all happen.

Contemporary Arts Festival
Join our team in presenting a spectacular evening of the arts at the celebrated Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival! Volunteers will help visitors navigate the festival footprint and collect vital audience feedback while staffing info booths.
Is there another way you want to get involved with Luminaria? Tell us about your arts-related or event assistance background. We seek groups and individuals who can take on specific roles.
Volunteers must be 16 years or older. Let us know if you are a student or need community hours recorded, and we will provide documentation.
