Michael Menchaca

For Luminaria 2017, Michael Menchaca created a video installation rich with repeated patterns, animations and a lightshow that hinted at the building’s 1968 World’s Fair usage history. Menchaca’s installation converted the facade of the Sweeney house into a large-scale altarpiece that connected the structure back to its previous Irish immigrant residents.
