A sculptor and assemblage artist born in Monterrey, Mexico, Cabrera is known for soft sculptures not dis-similar to Claes Oldenberg. For her Luminaria work she carries on with her work in social justice issues. Working with local San Antonio social service agencies Cabrera creates a roving movie projector in her back-pack. Symbolic of immigration movements Cabrera roved the 2015 footprint stopping periodically to project her movie on to the found walls.
Margarita Cabrera performed on October 23rd at the San Antonio Museum of Art.
