A Brooklyn-based painter originally from Austin, who first exhibited his work in San Antonio, at the SMART Fair, FLIGHT, and Bihl Haus Arts. A returning Luminaria artist, Sims comes back with his interpretations on ancient symbols. His work A Conjuration presents sculptural menhirs, a largely unknown purposeful upright standing stone, and projections of the mandala, traditional Buddhist symbols of concentric circles used for meditational purposes.
Johnathan Sims work was presented on February 19th at the San Antonio Museum of Art.
