Patty Ortiz received a BFA from the University of Texas and an MFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio.For Luminaria 2018, Ortiz presentedWWKY:I AM HERE, the sixth installment of the Work Won’t Kill You series, which addressed the present painful quandary of involuntary childhood immigrants who thought they had qualified for a path to citizenship through Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). This interactive installation wase located in the grotto by the San Antonio River.
