Founder Mary Cantu maintains the spare parts objective to connect with various agencies and businesses to provide a steady supply of materials, otherwise thrown away, thus repurposing them with the artistic community &educators increasing the creative &cultural energy of San Antonio. For Luminaria, spare parts present Moving Painting a cross-disciplinary performance and visual art experience. Participants are suspended by low-hanging aerial swing hammocks and equipped with non-traditional paintbrushes as they are swung horizontal to the ground.
