Susi Lopera

Born in Colombia, Susi Lopera is a multimedia artist who creates narrative sculptures and videos. She earned a BFA at the University of Southern California and is currently working towards an MFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Lopera strives to achieve the poetic characteristics of open-endedness, ambiguity, and unusual perspective in her work. She explores and reveals, through stories, the world’s myriad complexities and marvels. For Luminaria 2018, Lopera presented a new stop-motion animation based on two very interesting and famous individuals in San Antonio’s history.
