For the Luminaria festival, community integration took precedence in the eastside downtown neighborhoods of San Antonio. Regional and national artists are joined by international artists from Wuxi, China and Mexico City. Street art by artists from Spain, Portugal, Italy, and USA contribute permanent mural works. Family programming “Arts Quest” bridges new audiences to the arts. Luminaria received the award for Best Downtown Event from Centro San Antonio.
